Deliblato Sands (Serbian: Делиблатска Пешчара, Deliblatska Peščara) is a large sand area situated in the Vojvodina province, Serbia.
Deliblatska Peščara is the largest sandy terrain in Europe, once part of a vast prehistoric desert. It originated from the withdrawal of the Pannonian Sea. Due to its forest and surroundings, it was proclaimed to be a Special Nature Reserve.
The Pannonian Plain is a large plain in Central Europe that remained when the Pliocene Pannonian Sea dried out. The river Danube divides the plain roughly in half. The plain was named after the Pannonians, a northern Illyrian tribe.
