Happy birfday to Simon Pegg (14 February 1970- ), whom I’ve followed from Spaced to Shaun of the Dead to Hot Fuzz, and will continue to follow wherever he leads (although, alas, probably not to “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”—I draw the line at Tom Cruise).
Pegg races back to the Village East Cinema in his Norf London t-shirt after working the ENTIRE LINE at the NYC premiere of the “Spaced” DVD set (7/21/2008):
I’ll tell you, that was a great day, and really underscores what a fine person he is. He saw the line waiting to get in to the theatre, and got out of his car and worked the whole line that stretched from 2nd Ave to 3rd Ave—shaking hands, posing for photos, hugging people. Classy.
